School Caretaker

Location: BexleyheathHours: Monday to Friday, Part-Time (20 hours per week)Pay: £15+ per hour

Academics Ltd is currently seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming and supportive school in Bexleyheath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking for a long-term part-time role within a thriving educational environment.

As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises remain safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises each day
\n
• Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and general handyman duties
\n
• Undertaking routine health and safety inspections across the site
\n
• Ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, tidy and well maintained
\n
• Setting up classrooms, halls and other areas for school events and activities
\n
• Monitoring site security and reporting maintenance concerns promptly
\n
• Supporting deliveries, contractor visits and site access arrangements
\n
• Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep of school facilities and equipment
\n

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

\n
• Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative or similar role
\n
• Good practical maintenance, repair and DIY skills
\n
• Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
\n
• Flexible, hands-on and dependable approach
\n
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
\n
