Job Description

The Supply Register is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with the OAK Academies Trust to recruit a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher for Overdale Infant School. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, community-focused school in Knighton, Leicester. This position is 4 days per week, starting from August 2026 - December 2026.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for their transition to the junior phase, fostering a love of learning in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • \n

    Planning & Delivery: Full planning responsibilities to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

  • \n

    Assessment: Undertake regular assessment activities to monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.

    • \n
  • \n

    Feedback: Utilise the school's efficient feedback policy, where marking and feedback are primarily conducted within the lesson to maximise impact and support work-life balance.

  • \n

    Collaboration: Work closely with the Year 2 team and wider school staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

What We Are Looking For\n
    \n
  • \n

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    • \n
  • \n

    Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience is highly desirable).

    • \n
  • \n

    A strong understanding of early childhood development and KS1 assessment frameworks.

    • \n
  • \n

    Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.

    • \n
  • \n

    An adaptable, proactive approach to classroom management.

    • \n
  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one)
