Role - Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Linux & Cloud Automation)Location - ManchesterSalary - £55,000
\n\nWe are is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of Linux infrastructure and cloud automation across our managed service customer base. This is a hands-on, senior engineering role with real ownership and accountability, not a support desk position.
\n\nThe Role
\nYou'll be responsible for end-to-end Linux patching using Ansible, managing Azure Backup for Linux workloads, building infrastructure-as-code deployments with Bicep and ARM templates, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps. You'll also act as the escalation point for T1 engineers and play a key role in P1 major incident response as part of a 1-in-5 weekly on-call rota. On-call compensation is provided.
\n\nWhat We're Looking For
\n- \n
- 5-7 years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience, ideally within an MSP or multi-customer environment \n
- Strong Linux administration skills across RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux \n
- Proven Ansible experience including playbook development, patching lifecycle management, and compliance reporting \n
- Hands-on Azure proficiency covering Linux VM management, Azure Update Manager, Azure Backup, Key Vault, and networking \n
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep and/or ARM templates \n
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation \n
- Solid Bash scripting skills for automation and maintenance tasks \n
- Strong understanding of ITIL change management processes, including RFC preparation and CAB attendance \n
- Experience with ServiceNow for ticket and change management \n
Required Qualifications
\nAZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) or equivalent demonstrated Azure experience.
