Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Norwich, supporting pupils with complex needs, including PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
\nWorking Pattern: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

About the Role\nAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and a multidisciplinary team to support pupils with a wide range of complex learning, physical, and communication needs. The role will involve providing both academic support and personal care, ensuring every pupil can access learning in a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Support pupils with PMLD/SLD in a small, specialist class setting \n
- Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility where required \n
- Help deliver tailored learning activities in line with EHCPs \n
- Support communication using alternative methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS, sensory approaches – training can be provided) \n
- Promote a calm, structured, and positive learning environment \n
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff \n
- \n
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (PMLD/SLD experience desirable but not essential) \n
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach \n
- Comfortable supporting with personal care \n
- Strong teamwork and communication skills \n
- A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs \n
- \n
