Yard Operative / Forklift Driver

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Yard Assistant / Forklift Driver to join a growing independent builders’ merchant. You will be responsible for handling materials, goods and equipment.\n

Must have access to transport due to location of the branch

Salary: Up to £31,100 DOEHours: Mon - Fri & alternate Saturday mornings (08:00 - 12:00)Duties will include:\n

• Operating forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, organizing and storing materials, maintaining inventory records, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
\n
• First point of contact for customers arriving at the branch
\n
• Be responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing materials for damage or defects and ensuring that they are handled safely and efficiently.
\n
• You will play a critical role in ensuring that materials and equipment are moved and stored properly, this is essential for the smooth operation of the business.
\n
• We are looking for someone who has good organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well as part of a team.
\n
• A good understanding of safety procedures and be able to follow them rigorously to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries
\n
• Valid Forklift License
\n
• Up to date forklift training certificate
\n
