Job Description

Learning Support Assistant Location: Watford or Hemel Hempstead Start Date: September 2026 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only We are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school from September 2026. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions, helping children to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Provide classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning support. Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and engagement with learning. Support children with a range of additional learning needs. Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience working with primary-aged children (preferred but not essential). A positive, patient and nurturing approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development. Essential Requirements An Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to apply for one before starting work. Eligibility to work in the UK.DBS Refund: If you are required to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through us, the cost of your DBS can be refunded after completing 20 days of work.
