Are you an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career with a forward-thinking construction consultancy? Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their friendly and collaborative team in Truro. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some industry experience who is looking to broaden their skills, work on a diverse range of projects, and receive structured support towards becoming a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. The Role Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, you'll support the commercial delivery of projects from feasibility through to final account, gaining exposure to all aspects of professional quantity surveying. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with cost planning, estimating and budget preparation. Supporting procurement and tendering processes. Preparing cost reports and valuations. Assisting with contract administration and financial management. Monitoring project costs and reporting on variations. Supporting risk management and value engineering exercises. Attending site visits, client meetings and project reviews. Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and design teams. You'll have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, public sector and infrastructure schemes. About You We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to develop a long-term career in quantity surveying. Ideally you'll have: Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Graduate Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy or main contractor environment. A degree (or be working towards one) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline. A good understanding of construction costs and procurement. Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills with a professional approach to clients. A full UK driving licence.
