Electrical Estimator Location: Southampton, Hampshire Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 DOE + Benefits Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing pre-construction team based in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established electrical contractor delivering high-quality commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and residential projects across the South of England. Working closely with the commercial and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in preparing accurate, competitive tenders and helping secure new business. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed electrical estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documents. * Complete accurate take-offs and produce comprehensive cost plans. * Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. * Identify value engineering opportunities to maximise project profitability. * Prepare tender submissions, clarifications and supporting documentation. * Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and client meetings where required. * Work collaboratively with commercial, design and project management teams. * Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases. * Ensure tenders are submitted on time and in line with company procedures. About You We're looking for someone who has: * Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or electrical contracting sector. * Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and current regulations. * The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail. * Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office. * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * The ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines. Electrical qualifications such as an NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent would be advantageous.
