Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Year 7) Prestigious School | Bolton Area We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 7 student at a prestigious school in the Bolton area. The student has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD. They are academically able and access a high level of education; however, they require practical, structured support to help them thrive within the classroom environment. The student presents with high-functioning autism and benefits from calm, consistent, and patient support. The Ideal Candidate Will: · Hold a degree-level qualification (essential) to support access to a demanding academic curriculum · Have extensive experience working with students with ASD and ADHD, ideally in a secondary school setting · Be calm, patient, resilient, and emotionally regulated, even in challenging situations · Understand how to balance academic support with emotional and organisational guidance · Be able to build a strong, trusting relationship with the student · Use proactive strategies to support focus, engagement, and independence About the Student: · Bright, capable, and eager to learn · Responds well to clear routines and practical support · Has a strong interest in anime and art, which can be used positively to build rapport and engagement Role Responsibilities: · Provide tailored 1:1 support across the school day · Support access to lessons while encouraging independence · Assist with organisation, focus, and emotional regulation · Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEND professionals, and parents · Contribute to reviews and strategies linked to the EHCP This is a rewarding opportunity to support a lovely student in a high-quality educational setting, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference every day
