\nAbout the Role
\nWe are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor to support students facing a range of barriers to learning.
\nThis is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people, supporting their academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development. You will play a key role both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping students to thrive and reach their full potential.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Support students in lessons across a range of subjects \n
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to deliver targeted interventions, particularly in literacy and numeracy \n
- Act as a mentor for a group of students, supporting their progress and wellbeing \n
- Help students develop independence and confidence in their learning \n
- Support teachers in raising attainment and engagement \n
- Provide pastoral support and promote positive behaviour \n
- Supervise students during break and lunchtime, offering structured activities where required \n
- Contribute to student progress monitoring and feedback \n

- Understanding of barriers to learning and how to support students effectively \n
Essential:

- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) \n
- Experience working with children or young people (formal or informal) \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Relevant Level 3 qualification (or willingness to complete a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship) \n
- Experience supporting students with additional needs \n
Professional Development
\nCandidates who do not already hold a Level 3 qualification will be supported to complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship as part of the role.
