\nAre you a recent or soon-to-be graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology looking to build hands-on experience working with SEN children and young people as an Aspiring Child Counsellor?

\nThis school in East Grinstead is a supportive and inclusive special school for pupils age with a range of needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Their multidisciplinary approach provides a unique environment for developing your understanding of behaviour, emotional regulation, and therapeutic support strategies.
\nThis Aspiring Child Counsellor / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role in East Grinstead is ideal for graduates seeking experience before progressing into careers such as Child Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or Mental Health Support.
\nYou will work closely with experienced staff and therapists to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and access to learning.
\nKey Responsibilities for an Aspiring Child Counsellor / LSA

- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN \n
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development \n
- Assist in implementing individual learning and care plans \n
- Observe, monitor, and report on student progress and wellbeing \n
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment \n
- Provide personal care where required \n
What We're Looking For

- A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field \n
- A genuine interest in child development, mental health, or therapy \n
- Empathy, patience, and resilience \n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills \n
- A proactive and reflective attitude \n
- Experience with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential) \n
- Able to commute to East Grinstead \n

\n**Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
\n**£93-£105 per day
