Temporary Site Manager – Primary School (Hillingdon)

The Role

\n

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Temporary Site Manager to join a well-established primary school in Hillingdon. This is an immediate start position offering a stable assignment through the summer period, with the possibility of a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

\n

This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in ensuring the school premises remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

\n

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the school premises are safe, secure, and fully operational, carrying out regular site inspections
  • \n
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including both planned and reactive maintenance
  • \n
  • Act as the main point of contact for contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and in line with school procedures
  • \n
  • Monitor contractor compliance, including:\n
      \n
    • Permits to work
    • \n
    • Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
    • \n
    • Safeguarding requirements
    • \n
  • \n
  • Carry out routine health & safety checks, including:\n
      \n
    • Fire alarm testing
    • \n
    • Emergency escape route inspections
    • \n
    • Hazard and defect reporting
    • \n
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records including:\n
      \n
    • Statutory compliance documentation
    • \n
    • Maintenance logs
    • \n
    • Utility readings
    • \n
    • Health & safety records
    • \n
  • \n
  • Undertake minor repairs and maintenance tasks, escalating specialist works where required
  • \n
  • Oversee site cleanliness and grounds maintenance, ensuring a safe and presentable environment
  • \n
  • Liaise with school leadership regarding maintenance, compliance, and site risks
  • \n
  • Support emergency procedures and ensure adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding regulations
  • \n

Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a Site Manager / Caretaker / Facilities role, ideally within a school or similar environment
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and site compliance
  • \n
  • Experience managing contractors and overseeing maintenance works
  • \n
  • Ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
  • \n
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • \n
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • \n
