Job Description
Academics are an education recruitment agency working in partnership with primary schools across South Wales. We are currently seeking a passionate and nurturing Early Years Teacher to join a large, welcoming primary school in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan from September 2026.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is enthusiastic about Early Years education and committed to supporting young children as they begin their learning journey. The successful candidate will join a supportive teaching team in a school with strong leadership and a caring, inclusive environment.
\nKey Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Phase curriculum * Support pupils in developing early literacy, numeracy and social skills * Assess and monitor pupil progress to inform planning and next steps * Create a positive, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment * Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents/carers * Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
\nMinimum Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Academics * Previous experience teaching in Early Years, Nursery or Reception * Strong understanding of the Early Years curriculum and child development * Two professional references from the last two years * Excellent classroom management and communication skills
\nRole Details: * Position: Early Years Teacher * Contract Type: Temporary * Start Date: September 2026 * Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan * Pay Rate: £172.98 - £180 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) * Higher rates are available dependent upon experience, training, qualifications and client rate available
