Pay: £35+ per hour (Inclusive of Holiday pay)

Contract: Full Time, (Temporary on going / extension & going permanent)

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Lecturer to deliver Employability and Vocational Studies programmes, inclusive of English & Maths Functional Skills, to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

\n

This is an exciting opportunity to support learners in developing the knowledge, skills, confidence, and independence needed to progress into further education, employment, supported internships, or independent living.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Employability, Vocational Studies, and Functional Skills programmes.
  • \n
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  • \n
  • Teach and embed Functional Skills English and Maths within vocational and employability-focused learning.
  • \n
  • Support learners to achieve their learning goals, EHCP outcomes, and progression targets.
  • \n
  • Assess, monitor, and track learner progress, maintaining accurate records and providing constructive feedback.
  • \n
  • Develop learners' employability skills, workplace behaviours, communication skills, and confidence.
  • \n
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes learner participation and achievement.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, curriculum teams, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • \n
  • Promote learner independence, personal development, and preparation for adulthood.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and college policies.
  • \n
Essential Requirements\n
    \n
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Experience teaching learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • \n
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths.
  • \n
  • Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • \n
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.
