We are working with a wonderful primary school based in the heart of the Lake District. The school are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified HLTA to join them on a full time basis in September.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide full-time 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's educational, social, emotional, and developmental needs, ensuring they can access learning opportunities and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO, external professionals, and the pupil's family, you will implement strategies and interventions outlined within the EHCP and contribute to the pupil's ongoing progress and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support in line with the pupil's EHCP outcomes and provision.
\n
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and promote engagement.
\n
• Support the pupil's academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
\n
• Deliver targeted interventions and monitor progress against agreed objectives.
\n
• Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and other professionals.
\n
• Maintain accurate records of progress, achievements, and support provided.
\n
• Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
\n
• Support transitions throughout the school day and during extracurricular activities where appropriate.
\n
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing requirements are consistently met.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have equivalent experience.
\n
• Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
\n
• Have a strong understanding of EHCPs and person-centred approaches.
\n
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Be patient, resilient, nurturing, and committed to inclusive practice.
\n
• Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
\n
• Have experience delivering targeted learning interventions and assessing progress.
\n
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
\n
