Teaching Assistant - Part Time

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive Primary School in Gotham. This is a part-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:45am until 12:00pm, supporting pupils across the primary age range.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and enjoys working as part of a collaborative school team.

As the Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
\n
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small intervention groups, and within whole-class settings
\n
• Deliver and support high-quality phonics sessions
\n
• Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils, providing both support and appropriate challenge
\n
• Quickly identify misconceptions and provide effective in-the-moment interventions to develop pupils' knowledge and understanding
\n
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
\n
• Manage behaviour using calm, positive, and consistent strategies
\n
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to support pupil progress and wellbeing
\n

To be considered for this role, you will have:

\n
• Experience working within a Primary School setting across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
\n
• Experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within whole-class learning
\n
• Experience delivering or supporting the teaching of phonics
\n
• Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent
\n
• An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or an equivalent relevant qualification)
\n
• A strong understanding of child development and pedagogy
\n
• The ability to adapt activities to ensure all children are appropriately supported and challenged
\n
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
\n
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
\n
