Hales Group are recruiting for an experienced Lead CNC Machinist / Shift Leader to join our client based in Lowestoft, Suffolk. - Manufacture precision-engineered components using CNC and manual machining techniques \n
- Set, operate and adjust CNC milling and turning machines \n
- Edit CNC programs in line with engineering drawings and production requirements \n
- Carry out machine set-ups, tooling changes and programme prove-outs \n
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications \n
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet required standards \n
- Support assembly and workshop activities where required \n

- Act as the senior point of contact within the workshop during your shift \n
- Support, guide and mentor team members to maintain productivity and quality \n
- Assist in coordinating daily workshop activities and workflow \n
- Help ensure production schedules and delivery targets are achieved \n
- Provide hands-on technical support and problem-solving assistance \n
- Promote safe working practices and adherence to company procedures \n
- Work collaboratively with wider departments to support operational requirements \n

- Proven CNC machining experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment \n
- Strong CNC milling, turning, setting and operating skills \n
- Experience editing and adjusting CNC programmes \n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately \n
- Previous experience in a senior, lead, supervisory or team-support role \n
- Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities \n
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality \n
- Positive, proactive and reliable approach to work \n
- Ability to work independently while supporting and motivating a team \n
- Full UK driving licence desirable \n
