Pay Rate: £14.79 per hour\n
Hours: 39 hours per week\n
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 08:00–15:30\n

\nPertemps is recruiting for a Depot Operative to join a busy depot based in Kilsyth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, refurbishment and fit-out of depot buildings and yard areas, ensuring facilities are maintained to current standards and regulatory requirements.\n
\n
\nThe role will support depot operations by providing a safe, efficient and well-maintained working environment.\n
\n
Key Responsibilities\n
\n• Place health and safety as the highest priority at all times\n
\n• Complete work to a high standard and identify failures to prevent recurrence\n
\n• Support depot operations as required\n
\n• Minimise the environmental impact of depot operations\n
\n• Record water meter readings and provide monthly readings to the manager\n
\n• Monitor skips and arrange emptying when required\n
\n• Assist with depot maintenance and utilities\n
\n• Complete workplace risk assessments before work begins\n
\n• Operate plant safely, where authorised and required\n
\n• Supervise the return of site materials to the depot, including unloading and positioning\n
\n• Carry out weekly workshop fire alarm checks\n
\n• Check the suitability and condition of depot drains\n
\n• Ensure drain spill traps are fit for purpose\n
\n• Maintain accurate and up-to-date depot signage\n
\n• Arrange and supervise subcontractors, ensuring RAMS meet required standards\n
\n• Monitor depot road conditions and arrange repairs where necessary\n
\n• Allocate maintenance costs correctly\n
\n• Complete other duties as requested by the line manager, in line with training and competence\n
\n
What do you bring to the role?\n
\n• Clean driving licence preferred\n
\n• Experience in plumbing, joinery, decorating and electrical work\n
\n• Ability to multitask and prioritise a busy workload\n
\n• Enthusiastic team player\n
\n• Highly professional and positive attitude\n
\n• Slinger/signaller experience preferred\n
\n• CPCS qualifications in various categories preferred\n
\n• AP qualification considered\n
\n
