Role: BMS Commissioning Engineer
\nLocation: Glasgow
\nDuration: 3-6 Months
\n\nGeneral Overview:\n
\n
The BMS Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and handover of Trend Controls and Niagara Building Management Systems across UK projects. The role ensures systems operate in accordance with design intent, consultant specifications, British Standards, and client requirements.
\n\nKey Accountabilities:\n
\n
Commission Trend and Distech/Niagara BMS systems including controllers, field devices, and networks
\nCarry out point-to-point checks, I/O testing, and functional commissioning
\nConfigure and validate sequences of operation in line with specifications and drawings
\nCommission and modify BMS software, graphics, alarms, trends, and schedules
\nTune PID control loops to optimise HVAC performance
\nDiagnose and resolve BMS, HVAC, and communications faults
\nIntegrate third-party systems via BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and Modbus
\nOutcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators:
\nCommissioning activities completed in line with agreed project programmes
\nSuccessful witness testing and client acceptance with no major defects
\nFully functional Trend and Distech control strategies and integrations
\nReduced post-handover call-backs and defects
\nKnowledge and Skills:
\nSite experience commissioning BMS systems
\nStrong understanding of HVAC plant and building services
\nAbility to read UK consultant specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams
\nProven fault-finding and problem-solving ability
\nUnderstanding of IP networking and structured cabling
