We are seeking a self-motivated Manufacturing Engineer and CNC Programmer with expertise in precision manufacturing and aerospace practices. This role is crucial for generating CNC Part Programmes for 3, 4, and 5 Axis Machine Tools, creating new product processes, and improving manufacturing efficiency.

Day-to-day of the role:

\n
    \n
  • Prepare CNC Programmes from planned processes, including tool definition, setup sheets, and tooling plans.
  • \n
  • Prove Programmes into production and own the configuration of all supporting process elements such as production routings, tooling, gauges, test equipment, work holding, and CNC programmes.
  • \n
  • Determine materials and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications at the lowest cost.
  • \n
  • Make improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency.
  • \n
  • Develop processes and methods to meet manufacturing requirements ensuring the lowest cost and highest quality.
  • \n
  • Develop transparent cost structures and identify potential reduction initiatives.
  • \n
  • Support the development of documentation to enhance process control.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team.
  • \n
  • Ensure that all engineering processes are controlled by the quality management system.
  • \n
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging manufacturing and production technology to complement current and future business strategies.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • Proficient use of CAD/CAM Software to generate 3D Models and production of CNC Programmes (GibbsCAM preferred).
  • \n
  • Highly capable in machine tool and cutting tool specification and application.
  • \n
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • \n
  • Previous use and experience of SOLIDWORKS.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of precision engineering processes including general machining (milling and turning).
  • \n
  • Knowledge of Aerospace requirements particularly operating to AS9100.
  • \n
  • Ability to present and communicate at all levels including the customer where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Proven experience of working to schedules and the ability to plan personal workloads.
  • \n
\n

Education:

\n
    \n
  • Educated in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace) to degree / HNC / HND level or equivalent.
  • \n
  • Experience in a Manufacturing / Production role within a medium / large precision engineering organisation, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • \n
  • Qualified/trained in relevant CAD/CAM Software.
  • \n
