\nWest London Salary: £47,939 – £52,165 per annum Full-time | 36 hours per week | 52 weeks per year
\nThe Opportunity
\nWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Section Manager – Business (Finance & Management) to lead and develop a dynamic curriculum area within a forward-thinking further education environment.
\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a passionate education professional to shape curriculum delivery, drive student success, and lead a team of teaching staff across a portfolio of business and finance programmes.
\nAbout the Role
\nAs Section Manager, you will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, while supporting the strategic growth of the Business provision. You will also deputise for the Head of School when required.
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\nLeadership & Curriculum Management
\n- \n
- Lead the development, growth and innovation of Business (Finance & Management) programmes \n
- Manage a cluster of courses, ensuring high standards of delivery, achievement, and student progression \n
- Plan timetables, allocate resources, and support effective staffing \n
- Support, motivate and manage teaching staff, including appraisals and development \n
Teaching, Learning & Quality
\n- \n
- Teach across a range of programmes within your specialism (including potential AAT and HE provision) \n
- Drive improvements in teaching, learning, and assessment practices \n
- Monitor performance data and implement quality improvement strategies \n
- Ensure compliance with awarding body standards and quality frameworks \n
Student Experience & Outcomes

- Oversee student recruitment, retention, and achievement \n
- Ensure effective tutorial support and implementation of student support strategies \n
- Promote an inclusive, supportive, and high-achieving learning environment \n
Employer Engagement & Growth

- Build strong relationships with employers and external partners \n
- Contribute to the development of work-based learning opportunities \n
- Identify and develop new curriculum and commercial opportunities aligned to market needs \n
- Support marketing and promotional activities \n
About You
\nWe are looking for someone with strong leadership capability, a passion for education, and a proven track record in delivering excellent outcomes.
\nYou will have:
\n- \n
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in Business, Finance or related field \n
- A recognised teaching qualification (Level 5 or above) or willingness to achieve \n
- Experience teaching in Further Education (Business/Finance subject areas) \n
- Demonstrable curriculum management or team leadership experience \n
- Strong knowledge of teaching, learning, and assessment practices \n
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills \n
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Experience delivering AAT or Higher Education programmes \n
- Industry experience in Business or Finance \n
- Assessor/verifier or professional qualifications (e.g. AAT, CIPD, ILM) \n
