Solution Architect (Public Sector / Government Programme)
\nSFIA Level: 5/6Location: Telford (2 days per week initially, reducing to 2 days every 2 weeks once established)Duration: 6 monthsRate: £625-£675 per dayClearance: SC Eligible
\nOverview
\nWe are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a large-scale public sector transformation programme. This role will play a key part in driving solution design and delivery across a complex application modernisation initiative.
\nYou will take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture, working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and successfully transitioned into live service.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Own the solution design throughout the full delivery lifecycle \n
- Lead application modernisation initiatives within the wider programme \n
- Drive the development and documentation of high-quality solution designs \n
- Ensure all solutions align with architecture governance and best practices \n
- Collaborate with agile delivery teams and architects across all phases \n
- Act as the technical authority, working through design decisions and challenges \n
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders (internal & external) \n
- Manage relationships with vendors and third-party providers \n
- Oversee technical problem resolution and ensure delivery aligns to agreed specifications \n
Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect within complex programmes \n
- Strong background in application modernisation and cloud migration \n
- Experience working with both legacy systems and modern cloud ecosystems \n
- Knowledge of technologies such as: \n
- AWS, Azure \n
- Kubernetes, HELM \n
- Java, JavaScript \n
- Oracle, MySQL \n
- Experience working in agile environments across full delivery lifecycles \n
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to act as a trusted advisor \n
- Experience working within public sector or regulated environments (desirable) \n
