\nBeckfoot Thornton is seeking a committed and caring Pupil Support Worker to join the team from April 2026 on a long-term or short-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to support the wellbeing, behaviour, and learning of pupils—particularly vulnerable learners—within a welcoming and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:\n- \n

Support pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour, and attitude to learning.
\n - \n
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals.
\n - \n
Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with school life.
\n - \n
Promote inclusion, independence, and positive values in pupils.
\n - \n
Track and monitor behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns.
\n - \n
Make welfare calls and support strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.
\n - \n
Assist with lesson planning, pastoral care, and behaviour management.
\n - \n
Organise and support extracurricular and enrichment activities.
\n - \n
Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider school environment.
\n

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education.
\n - Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN. \n
- \n
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
\n - \n
Excellent communication skills and a supportive, proactive approach.
\n - \n
A team player with resilience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people thrive.
