We are working in partnership with the prestigious Harris City Academy Crystal Palace in Croydon to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teacher of Science. This is a full-time, term-long supply role covering the complete Autumn Term of 2026.

Unlike unpredictable day-to-day supply work, this position offers you the stability of a fixed-term contract within a highly supportive and structured academy setting. You will become an integral part of the Science department, delivering high-quality lessons and helping students thrive from day one.

As a Science Teacher, you will be expected to hit the ground running. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons tailored to various learning abilities.

\n
• \n

  Teaching a broad timetable spanning Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form).

• \n

  Maintaining high expectations of student behaviour and creating a focused, positive learning environment in line with the academy's behaviour policies.

\n
• \n

  Marking work, tracking student progress, and ensuring that learning gaps are minimised.

\n

  Exceptional Behaviour Management: The ability to command a classroom with authority, respect, and positive reinforcement is crucial.

  Total Commitment: Student stability is a top priority for the academy. You must be able to commit to the entire term without prior commitments or planned absences.

  Qualifications: You must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification, alongside a relevant degree in Science.

  Safeguarding: A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to process a new one immediately).
