Phase Leader / Year 4 Teacher (KS2)Location: Hemel Hempstead, HertfordshireSalary: London Fringe MPS-UPS (£34,397 - £62,500 per annum)Contract: Full-Time | Temporary with the opportunity to become permanentStart Date: September 2026 (or earlier by agreement)
\nAn ambitious and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a dedicated Phase Leader / Year 4 Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who wants to combine excellent classroom practice with the opportunity to influence teaching, learning, and outcomes across the phase.

\nThis role would be well suited to an experienced KS2 teacher with existing leadership experience or a teacher ready to take the next step into phase leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting colleagues, strengthening curriculum delivery, and ensuring high standards across Key Stage 2.
The Role\nAs Phase Leader and Year 4 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching within your own classroom while supporting the development and consistency of practice across the phase. Working closely with the leadership team, you will contribute to school improvement priorities and help drive positive outcomes for pupils.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Teaching\n- \n
- Deliver engaging and purposeful lessons for a Year 4 class. \n
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where pupils are motivated to succeed. \n
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future teaching. \n
- Provide appropriate support and challenge to meet the needs of all learners. \n

- Support the continued development of teaching and learning across Key Stage 2. \n
- Help maintain consistency in curriculum planning, expectations, and standards. \n
- Collaborate with colleagues to share effective practice and improve outcomes. \n
- Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and curriculum development activities. \n
- \n
- Develop strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues. \n
- Support whole-school initiatives and improvement plans. \n
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing throughout the school. \n
The successful applicant will have:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). \n
- Strong experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4. \n
- A proven ability to deliver consistently high-quality lessons. \n
- Experience of leadership responsibilities or a clear ambition to progress. \n
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills. \n
- A commitment to inclusive education and improving pupil outcomes. \n
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. \n
