A well-established property and construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with a construction-related degree and several years of experience to develop their career across commercial and residential projects.
\nThe Assistant Project Manager will support senior colleagues throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and design development through to construction and completion. This Assistant Project Manager role would suit a motivated Assistant Project Manager who wants greater responsibility, varied project exposure, and a clear route towards becoming a Project Manager. The successful Assistant Project Manager will work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors while building their technical and commercial knowledge.
\nYou must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
\n The Assistant Project Manager's role\nThe Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of commercial and residential projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
\nThe Assistant Project Manager will assist with programme management, consultant coordination, procurement, contract administration, risk management, project reporting, and stakeholder communication. They will attend client and site meetings, monitor actions, prepare project documentation, and help ensure projects remain on programme and within budget.
\nAs their experience develops, the Assistant Project Manager will take greater ownership of project workstreams and smaller commissions while continuing to receive support from experienced senior colleagues.
\n The Assistant Project Manager\nThe successful Assistant Project Manager will have:

- Several years of project management experience within a construction consultancy \n
- Experience supporting commercial or residential projects \n
- A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline \n
- Progress towards MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification \n
- A good understanding of JCT contracts and construction project delivery \n
- Strong communication, organisation, and report-writing skills \n
- A professional and confident client-facing approach \n
- A proactive attitude and commitment to career development \n
