Teaching Assistant

Your new companyHays Education are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across North London.

Working in partnership with a number of successful secondary schools and academies, we are recruiting Teaching Assistants to provide classroom, academic and pastoral support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities extending into Key Stage 5.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals with experience supporting young people who are looking to make a positive impact in schools.

Your new roleAs a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students in lessons across a range of subject areas
\n
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences
\n
• Provide one-to-one and small group intervention support
\n
• Assist students with varying learning needs to access the curriculum
\n
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
\n
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
\n
• Support students' academic progress and personal development
\n

Opportunities are available on a daily supply, short-term, long-term and permanent basis.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work setting
\n
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
\n
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
\n
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach
\n
• Passion for supporting young people and their educational development
\n
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
\n

A degree is desirable but not essential.
