Shift Leader – Building Services Location: City of London Salary: £57,000 – £59,000 + £1,500 AP Bonus Shift Pattern: Continental Shift (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am – Days & Nights) Shift Leader | Prestigious Commercial Building | City of London We are seeking an experienced Shift Leader to join a leading facilities management team at a prestigious commercial building in the City of London. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong electrical or mechanically qualified engineer looking to step into, or continue in, a leadership role within a critical commercial environment. You'll lead a team of engineers while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all building services systems. Salary & Benefits * £57,000 – £59,000 basic salary * £1,500 Authorised Person (AP) Bonus * Continental shift pattern (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am) * Overtime available * Private pension scheme * 20 days shift leave * Excellent company benefits package * Ongoing technical training and funded qualifications * Clear career progression opportunities within a growing organisation The Role As Shift Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the engineering shift team, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Your responsibilities will include: * Leading and supporting a team of Shift Engineers * Coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works * Operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical plant * Acting as the first point of contact for engineering issues and site incidents * Ensuring statutory compliance and health & safety procedures are followed * Issuing and controlling Permit to Work systems * Liaising with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders * Producing shift reports and maintaining accurate maintenance records * Supporting specialist contractors and overseeing planned works * Driving high standards of service delivery and continuous improvement About You We're looking for an experienced Building Services Engineer with previous supervisory or Shift Leader experience in a commercial or critical environment. You will ideally have: * Experience leading engineering teams within commercial building maintenance * Electrical or Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) * Strong knowledge of building services plant, including HVAC, electrical distribution, pumps, generators, UPS, AHUs and FCUs * Previous experience operating Permit to Work systems * Authorised Person (AP) status or willingness to achieve AP accreditation * Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Strong communication and leadership abilities * A proactive approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service Why Join Us?
