Group Management Accountant

Ascent Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, international business in Manchester as they look to appoint a Group Management Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to a fantastic Financial Controller and working under them as their number 2, you’ll take ownership of key accounting and month-end processes across a complex, multi-entity and multi-currency international group. The role will involve: * Taking ownership of month-end processes, checks and reconciliations across multiple group entities * Preparing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany reconciliations * Supporting accurate and timely management accounting and financial reporting * Managing day-to-day accounting across international entities * Overseeing client billing and reconciling associated data * Reviewing bank reconciliations, cash positions and group payment runs * Supporting audit queries and maintaining strong financial controls and compliance * Working with stakeholders across the business, as well as clients and suppliers * Identifying and driving improvements to finance processes and reporting * Using Excel, Power BI and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of financial information * Supporting and guiding the wider finance team and helping keep key deadlines on track What we’re looking for: * ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified or part-qualified * Strong hands-on month-end and management accounting experience * Experience of multi-entity (ideally) * Strong Excel skills * A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to improve processes rather than simply follow them * Experience gained within both SME and larger, more structured environments would be particularly useful The business offers: * Salary £45,000-£55,000 * Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in the Manchester office * Free on-site parking * Study support if required * 25 days holiday, plus bank, plus your birthday off! * Genuine development and progression opportunities within a growing international business This could be a great move for a Management Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, and improving how things are done, while supporting and learning from an excellent Financial Controller.
