We are seeking a dedicated Family Time Worker to join our team in Children's Services - Staying Safe. This role involves delivering high-quality interventions and ensuring positive outcomes for Looked After Children (LAC) and their families. The ideal candidate will work with vulnerable families who may have complex needs, across various settings, under the guidance of the Family Time Team Leaders.

Day-to-Day of the Role:\n
    \n
  • Contribute to risk assessments and protect children and young people from danger, harm, and abuse.
  • \n
  • Plan and record interventions effectively to support and contribute to the overall assessment held by referring social care teams.
  • \n
  • Deliver quality interventions within the Framework for Action parenting capacity guidance.
  • \n
  • Offer support and evidence-based intervention around child development using EYFS (Early Years Framework Strategy) guidance and behaviour management strategies.
  • \n
  • Work in partnership with families on protection plans in their own home, where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Communicate and work with a range of professionals and agencies ensuring a seamless service for children and families, managing, and providing information to support effective decision-making.
  • \n
  • Escort children and families as appropriate and manage a caseload effectively, delivering and reporting on agreed work tasks.
  • \n
  • Support, mentor, and supervise students and volunteers across a range of service delivery.
  • \n
Required Skills & Qualifications:\n
    \n
  • Relevant level 3 qualification e.g., NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC, Early Years, Childcare, Health and Social Care, Youth and Community Studies.
  • \n
  • Experience of working with children and families support services provided by organisations and agencies across the Borough.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the protection of children by identifying and acting upon risks of danger, harm, and abuse.
  • \n
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively manage a caseload.
  • \n
  • Ability to develop and implement activities for all children including those with additional needs, disabilities, or behavioural problems.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships.
