Job Description
verview We're looking for an experienced Clean Water Process Design Engineer to provide process design input across clean water treatment works and associated assets. The focus is on producing high-quality design outputs, supporting project teams through design and delivery decisions, and attending site when needed to validate assumptions and support readiness/commissioning. What you'll be doing Leading and delivering process design packages for clean water treatment works (new build, upgrades, optimisation). Developing and checking process calculations and selections, such as mass balances, treatment sizing, chemical dosing basis, contact time, filtration parameters, backwash strategies, disinfection approach, residuals interfaces, and operational envelopes. Producing and reviewing core process design deliverables, typically including Design Basis / Basis of Design, process calculations, PFDs, process descriptions, process narratives, and inputs to control philosophy. Working with mechanical, EICA, civil and commissioning teams to ensure the process intent is buildable, operable, maintainable, and correctly reflected through design. Supporting design risk activity (design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP) and managing actions through to close-out with practical design updates and clear audit trail. Providing technical support during site visits for surveys, constructability reviews, operator engagement, commissioning support, performance troubleshooting, and handover readiness. What we need from you Proven process design experience in clean water treatment (WTW), ideally across several treatment stages (coagulation/flocculation, DAF, rapid gravity filtration, GAC, UV/chlorination, pH/alkalinity correction, etc. as applicable). Strong ability to produce clear, auditable process design calculations and written design basis documentation. Confident communicator who can explain process decisions simply to non-process stakeholders. Comfortable working remotely with planned UK site attendance when required. Full right to work in the UK
