Registered Nurse – Endoscopy - Band 5 Location: Sussex Job Type: Agency Work / Ad-Hoc Shifts Block Bookings also available Employer: Cromwell Medical Staffing Working Hours: Days Job Description: Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse – Endoscopy to join one of our leading NHS clients in Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Endoscopy nurse to work within a specialised endoscopy unit, providing high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Key Responsibilities: * Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and bronchoscopy * Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including pre-procedure assessments and consent verification * Assist endoscopists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort * Monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical condition throughout procedures and recovery * Administer prescribed medications, including sedation, analgesia, and reversal agents, in accordance with clinical guidelines * Recognise and respond promptly to complications such as bleeding, perforation, or adverse reactions * Provide post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring safe discharge in line with protocols * Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, and recovery progress * Maintain infection prevention and control standards, including decontamination processes and safe handling of endoscopy equipment * Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care Requirements: * NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) * Minimum 6 months’ recent experience working within an Endoscopy Unit * Competent in assisting with endoscopic procedures and patient monitoring * Experience in conscious sedation and recovery care * Knowledge of endoscopy decontamination processes and infection control standards * Ability to recognise and manage clinical deterioration * Right to work in the UK * Up-to-date mandatory training (e.g., BLS, ILS desirable, Safeguarding, Manual Handling, Infection Control) Benefits: * Competitive agency pay rates * Block bookings available * Flexible shift patterns * Dedicated consultant support * Opportunities across multiple NHS Trusts How to Apply: If you’re an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse looking for a new opportunity in Sussex, click Apply Now or contact our team for more details
