Data Analytics Engineer

Data Analytics Engineer | Hybrid | BasingstokeWe're working with a growing financial services business looking to bring in a Data Analytics Engineer to help build out their data platform from the ground up.You'll own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products - ingestion, modelling and presentation - working closely with stakeholders across the business to turn raw data into something they can actually use and act on.What you'll be doing:\n

\n
• Designing and building performant data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark, ideally within Azure Databricks
\n
• Contributing to the platform's data modelling and architecture
\n
• Building dashboards and semantic models, and presenting these directly to stakeholders
\n
• Working across the full pipeline from source systems to target repositories, with a strong focus on data quality
\n
• Collaborating with Data Scientists to help productionise ML pipelines
\n
• Operating within an Agile/DevOps environment
\n

What we're looking for:\n

\n
• Strong SQL and Python skills
\n
• Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data management principles
\n
• Hands-on experience with Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Storage, DevOps)
\n
• Experience designing Star Schema data models for Power BI
\n
• 5+ years' experience building data platforms in a commercial setting
\n

Nice to have:\n

\n
• Real-time pipeline experience
\n
• Azure Data Engineer certification
\n
• Exposure to Kafka or other open-source tools
\n
• Background in a regulated industry (finance/insurance)
\n
