Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term for 1 yearLocation: Durham International Study Centre, Stockton-on-Tees (On-Site)Salary: up to £39,605.59 per annumTo teach a broad range of Mathematics modules at both International Foundation Year and Pre-masters level, across the three different programmes of study at the centre. (Business, Economics, Accounting and Finance, Humanities, Law and Social Sciences, and Science and Engineering).ABOUT THE ROLE \n

- Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression. \n
- Planning and preparing lessons in line with departmental expectations, using appropriate teaching methods and resources. \n
- Assisting in the development of modules from existing module specifications. \n
- Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students \n
- To act as a module coordinator for a specific maths module \n
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the virtual learning environment (VLE). \n
- Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process. \n
- Reviewing your own professional development and identifying any training needs. \n
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance. \n
- Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students. \n
- Participating in regular meetings with both teaching and support staff. \n
- Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC. \n
- \n
- A degree in a related subject area. (essential but Master’s degree strongly preferred). \n
- Fluent spoken and written English. (essential) \n
- A recognised teaching qualification. (desirable) \n
- Teaching experience, delivering Mathematics programmes within a Further Education or Higher Education context. (essential) \n
- Experience of working with international students online and face to face. (highly desirable). \n
- Proven ability to support international students in academic transition. (essential) \n
- Experience of preparing resources, assessments and examinations. (essential) \n
- Competent IT skills. (essential) \n
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. (essential) \n
- Confident and competent practitioner, online (e.g., use of Teams/Zoom) and face to face. (desirable) \n
