  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and behaviour specialists to support students aged 11-16
  • \n
  • Provide individualised learning support, including communication-focused interventions and sensory-aware classroom practice
  • \n
  • Assist with personalised timetables, small-group learning, and community-based activities
  • \n
  • Contribute to a calm, predictable environment that prioritises emotional regulation and positive relationships
  • \n
  • Helping students access learning through visual scaffolding, sensory-friendly approaches, and communication-support strategies
  • \n
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to build confidence, independence, and emotional regulation
  • \n
  • Collaborating with teachers, speech therapists, and behaviour practitioners
  • \n

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting young people with autism, social communication differences, or SEMH needs
  • \n
  • Confident using visual supports, structured routines, and de-escalation strategies
  • \n
  • Understanding of autism-friendly practice and trauma-informed approaches
  • \n
  • Patient, resilient, and able to build trust with learners who may require additional time and consistency
  • \n
  • A team player who values collaboration and reflective practice
  • \n
  • Desireable - Qualification as a Teaching Assistant or Qualification within SEN
  • \n
