School Science Technician

Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity in a secondary school setting?

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a supportive secondary school in Congleton that is seeking a knowledgeable and organised Science Technician to join their Science Department. The school is looking to appoint someone both immediately and from September on a full-time, fixed-term basis.

The role will initially run until December, with the potential for extension beyond this date.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

• Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons
\n
• Support teaching staff with the delivery of practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
\n
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are readily available
\n
• Safely store and handle chemicals and scientific equipment
\n
• Assist with risk assessments and departmental safety procedures
\n
• Provide technical support to teaching staff and students where appropriate
\n

• Previous experience working as a Science Technician within a school or educational setting
\n
• Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of laboratory procedures
\n
• Experience preparing practical resources and equipment for science lessons
\n
• Good awareness of health and safety requirements within a laboratory environment
\n
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
\n
• A relevant science qualification or degree (desirable)
\n

• Competitive daily rates of £100-£120 per day (depending on experience)
\n
• Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella company deductions
\n
