Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a highly regarded federation of five maintained nursery schools in the London Borough of Lambeth in the recruitment of an experienced and proactive School Business Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established federation at an exciting time, taking over from a long-serving Business Manager who is retiring after many successful years. An earlier start date is available to allow for a comprehensive handover, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.

You will be line managed and work closely with the Executive Business Manager who oversees across all 5 nurseries. You will play a pivotal support role to the Executive Business Manager, in the strategic and operational management of the federation, ensuring the highest standards of financial and business management across all five schools.

• Full-time, 8:30am - 4:30pm

• Term time only plus one additional week

• PO2 Salary Scale

• September 2026 start (with flexibility for an earlier handover period)

As School Business Manager, you will lead on all aspects of the federation's business operations, including:

\n
• Financial management, budgeting and monitoring
\n
• Payroll and HR administration
\n
• Premises and facilities management
\n
• Health and Safety compliance
\n
• Procurement and contract management
\n
• Oversight of administrative systems and processes
\n
• Management Information Systems, including SIMS
\n
• Supporting the Executive Headteacher with strategic planning and operational efficiency
\n
• Ensuring compliance with statutory and financial regulations
\n

We are looking for a skilled and organised School Business Manager who:

• Has previous experience working within a school business management role
\n
• Possesses strong financial management and budgeting experience
\n
• Has working knowledge of SIMS (or similar school MIS)
\n
• Understands HR processes, premises management and Health & Safety within an education setting
\n
• Is an excellent communicator with outstanding organisational skills
\n
• Can manage multiple priorities across a federation of schools
\n
• Is committed to supporting outstanding early years education through effective business leadership
\n
