We're working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Featherstone area of Wakefield that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring, and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role\n

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. You'll provide both classroom and individual support, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:\n

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range
  • \n
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils
  • \n
  • Assisting children with varying learning needs and abilities
  • \n
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in lessons
  • \n
  • Supporting literacy, numeracy, and classroom activities
  • \n
  • Helping create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • \n
  • Assisting with behaviour management and pupil wellbeing
  • \n
What We're Looking For\n

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and understands the positive impact a great Teaching Assistant can have.

Ideally, you'll have:\n

  • Previous experience working with children in a UK primary school
  • \n
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • \n
  • Good classroom awareness and adaptability
  • \n
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in school life
  • \n
Desirable but not essential:\n
    \n
  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • \n
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils
  • \n
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • \n
  • Experience within a Primary School setting
  • \n
