Caretaker/Maintenance

Location: Salisbury

Rate: £16-£18 per hour

Contract: Temporary until 1 September 2026 (with potential extension)

Hours: 08:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00-15:30 Friday

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Technician to support the maintenance, safety and day-to-day operation of a busy educational environment. This is a varied role where you will be responsible for ensuring buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs and minor refurbishment works.
\n
• Conduct site inspections and ensure the premises remain safe, compliant and well-maintained.
\n
• Coordinate contractors and monitor the delivery of on-site services.
\n
• Support health & safety compliance, risk assessments and statutory inspections.
\n
• Monitor fire safety, security systems and respond to site issues as required.
\n
• Act as a key holder, assisting with site opening, closing and security procedures.
\n
• Maintain maintenance records, compliance documentation and inventory logs.
\n
• Obtain quotations, order materials and support contractor procurement.
\n
• Use facilities management systems to track repairs, jobs and compliance activities.
\n

About You

\n
• Experience carrying out building maintenance or facilities-related duties.
\n
• Good understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance
\n
• Knowledge of building services, security and fire safety procedures.
\n
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
\n
• Full UK driving licence.
\n
