The Role

\n

You will join a central data team and take ownership of day to day data governance and compliance activities while contributing to longer term strategy.

  • Lead the implementation of a new data governance platform, evaluating tools such as Collibra or Informatica
  • \n
  • Design and embed data governance frameworks, standards, and policies across the organisation
  • \n
  • Develop and manage data ownership models and stewardship responsibilities
  • \n
  • Define and introduce data contracts to improve data quality and accountability
  • \n
  • Lead data lineage initiatives, mapping data flows from source systems through to reporting layers
  • \n
  • Support data compliance activities, including GDPR requests and data retention policies
  • \n
  • Assess and improve data governance maturity against recognised frameworks
  • \n
  • Engage with stakeholders across technical and business teams to drive adoption and cultural change
  • \n
  • Contribute to the development of data products and governance best practices
  • \n

Your Skills & Experience

\n
    \n
  • Strong commercial experience in data governance within a complex environment
  • \n
  • Demonstrated expertise in data lineage and data flow mapping
  • \n
  • Experience working with data governance tools and leading or supporting implementations
  • \n
  • Solid understanding of data compliance and GDPR requirements
  • \n
  • Experience building or embedding governance frameworks and ownership models
  • \n
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption across business and technology teams
  • \n
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of key initiatives
  • \n
  • Exposure to data contracts or similar modern data management concepts is advantageous
