\n Tradewind are seeking a friendly and reliable School Catering Assistant to join a school's catering team on a term-time basis.\n
\n
\n This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to delivering a positive lunchtime experience for students and staff.\n
\n
\n
\n Main Purpose of the Role:\n
\n
\n To assist with the smooth and efficient running of the school's catering operations, including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.\n
\n
\n Key Requirements:\n
\n
    \n
  • Experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role (school or similar environment preferred)
    • \n
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
    • \n
  • Ability to assist in the preparation and service of school lunches
    • \n
  • A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
    • \n
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
    • \n
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
    • \n
\n
\n Key Responsibilities:\n
\n
    \n
  • Assist with food prep, including sandwiches, desserts, and homestyle meals
    • \n
  • Set up the dinner hall for lunchtime service
    • \n
  • Serve food in a polite, friendly, and efficient manner
    • \n
  • Clean kitchen areas, service counters, equipment, and utensils
    • \n
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety standards
    • \n
  • Ensure a friendly and supportive interaction with students and staff during service
    • \n
  • Report any illnesses or hygiene concerns in line with regulations
    • \n
\n

  • Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
    • \n
  • High standards of personal hygiene and presentation
    • \n
  • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative where needed

  • Experience in a catering environment
