IT Field Project Engineer
Job Description
IT Field Project Engineer
\n£34,000 – £37,000 | London | Field-Based
\n\nSome engineers care whether the technology works.
\n\nOthers care whether the whole installation is something they're proud to put their name to.
\n\nNeat cabling.
\nClean comms rooms.
\nProfessional handovers.
\nHappy customers.
\n\nIf you're the kind of engineer who steps back at the end of an install and thinks, "That looks spot on," then keep reading.
\n\n\nWhat's in it for you?
\n- \n
- Salary: £34,000 – £37,000 \n
- Location: London (field-based with customer site visits) \n
- Projects: 100% project delivery. No service desk queue. \n
- Variety: Infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networking, hardware deployments, Wi-Fi, onboarding and more \n
- Customers: Work across a wide range of commercial environments throughout London and beyond \n
- Development: Ongoing technical training and certifications \n
What's the role really about?
\n\nThis isn't a desk-based engineering role.
\n\nYou'll be out delivering customer projects.
\n\nOne day you could be rolling out Microsoft 365 devices for a new client.
\n\nThe next, installing networking equipment, building comms cabinets, deploying wireless infrastructure or helping deliver a complete office move.
\n\nNo two weeks will look the same.
\n\nWhat never changes is the expectation of quality.
\n\nThe business takes real pride in its workmanship, and they're looking for someone who feels the same.
\n\n\nWhat you'll be doing
\n- \n
- Delivering customer infrastructure projects across London and the surrounding areas \n
- Installing and configuring Microsoft 365 devices and user environments \n
- Deploying Windows desktops, laptops and workplace technology \n
- Installing servers, networking equipment and wireless solutions \n
- Supporting Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID and SharePoint \n
- Carrying out customer onboarding and office technology rollouts \n
- Completing site surveys and preparing installations \n
- Producing clear project documentation and handover information \n
- Building strong relationships with customers throughout every project \n
What you'll bring
\n- \n
- Previous experience delivering IT projects within an MSP environment \n
- Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge, including Intune and Entra ID \n
- Experience working with Windows Server and infrastructure technologies \n
- Good networking knowledge across switches, wireless and firewalls \n
- Confidence working directly with customers onsite \n
- A professional attitude and genuine pride in the quality of your work \n
- Excellent communication skills \n
- Full UK driving licence \n
The kind of person who'll thrive here
\n\nYou enjoy being out on site.
\n\nYou like seeing projects come together.
\n\nYou care about the finish just as much as the technology behind it.
\n\nYou're organised.
\n\nReliable.
\n\nProfessional.
\n\nAnd when you leave a customer site, you want them thinking:
\n\n"That was done properly."
\n\n\nWhy this role?
\n\nSome project roles are all planning.
\n\nSome are all support.
\n\nThis one sits in the middle.
\n\nYou'll spend your time delivering real customer projects across Microsoft cloud, infrastructure and networking, while becoming a trusted face for customers and leaving every installation better than you found it.
\n\nIf you enjoy hands-on project delivery and take pride in doing things properly, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
\n\n\nInterested?
