Job Title: Assistant Education Manager- HMP

\n The Opportunity\nAre you an experienced educator and staff manager ready to take the next step into operational leadership? Do you want to lead a team where your management directly drives social rehabilitation and changes lives?
\nWe are recruiting for a motivated and driven Assistant Education Manager to join the senior management team within a secure adult environment. Supporting the Education Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping curriculum delivery, managing diverse vocational and academic subject areas (including Motor Mechanics, Art, Painting & Decorating, Music, and Media), and ensuring learners receive an outstanding education that unlocks future employability.
\n What You Will Be Doing\n- \n

Operational Leadership: Support the Education Manager in overseeing day-to-day department operations, managing learner inductions, and deputising for the manager when required.

Curriculum & Performance: Drive regional recruitment, retention, and student achievement targets. Set clear staff KPIs and align the curriculum with real-world employer needs.

Quality Assurance: Lead on continuous improvement by managing internal and external quality assurance (IQA/EQA) processes, conducting learning walks, and contributing to the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).

People Management: Manage, mentor, and support teaching and support staff through formal appraisals, probation reviews, and structured CPD programmes.

Compliance & Delivery: Ensure all educational delivery aligns strictly with Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework (EIF), Ministry of Justice (MoJ) data standards, and security compliance. You will also step in to deliver teaching sessions or cover classes where required.

Qualifications: A Level 5 teaching qualification (or above) and Level 3 qualifications in both English and Maths are essential. An Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification is required (or a willingness to achieve one quickly).

Leadership Experience: Significant teaching experience combined with a proven track record of managing staff, leading curriculum delivery, and driving performance improvements.

Sector Knowledge: A thorough working knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and a deep commitment to reducing reoffending through education.
\n - \n
Desirable Criteria: A Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager qualification and prior leadership experience within a prison education or adult learning setting are highly advantageous.
