Multi-Trade Operative
\nMain Purpose of the Role
\nThe Multi-Trade Operative is responsible for delivering a range of property maintenance services, including responsive repairs, planned works, void property refurbishments, and property inspections. The role requires expertise in a primary trade, with the flexibility to undertake secondary trade duties as needed. Work must be completed safely, efficiently, and to agreed quality standards and deadlines.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Carry out repairs, maintenance, inspections, and refurbishment works across residential properties. \n
- Maintain van stock levels, accurately record material usage, and order specialist materials when required. \n
- Complete all job records, reports, and associated paperwork accurately and in real time using company systems. \n
- Identify and report jobs requiring follow-on works, additional resources, or status changes. \n
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are used safely and maintained appropriately. \n
- Work in compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and Health & Safety legislation. \n
- Conduct risk assessments and report hazards, unsafe practices, or incidents. \n
- Deliver high-quality workmanship with minimal supervision. \n
- Attend appointments as scheduled and provide excellent customer service. \n
- Aim to complete repairs on the first visit wherever possible. \n
- Take a flexible approach to support operational requirements and changing workloads. \n
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met before leaving site. \n
- Support and supervise apprentices or trainees when required. \n
- Act professionally and represent the organisation positively at all times. \n
Experience & Qualifications
\nEssential
\n- \n
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent experience in a relevant trade. \n
- Significant experience within property maintenance, construction, or building services. \n
- Proven capability in a primary trade and competence across additional trade disciplines. \n
- For electrical specialisms: relevant current electrical qualifications, including testing and inspection certification where applicable. \n
- Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices. \n
- Strong organisational, planning, and workload prioritisation skills. \n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. \n
- Effective decision-making, communication, and customer service skills. \n
- Full UK driving licence. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Current CSCS card or equivalent industry certification. \n
- Experience within social housing, facilities management, or property maintenance environments. \n
- Previous experience supervising apprentices or junior operatives. \n
