Business Risk VP

We are seeking an experienced Business Risk VP to lead risk oversight and delivery in a strategic transformation portfolio focused on enterprise-wide tooling that automates and streamlines risk and control activity, delivering measurable efficiencies and improvements in the Group’s risk profile aligned to HSBC’s priorities of customer-centricity, sustainable growth, and simplicity and agility.
\nAs the primary Business Risk lead for the portfolio, you will translate strategy into actionable programmes, align cross-functional stakeholders, and drive end-to-end delivery. You will apply deep risk and control expertise to lead broader workflows and initiatives that advance Business Risk leadership priorities. Responsibilities\n- \n
- Identify and shape commercially viable opportunities, ensuring solutions are driven by customer outcomes, cost efficiency, strong controls, colleague impact and sustainability, aligned to HSBC strategy. \n
- Provide constructive challenge to assumptions and proposed approaches, influencing prioritisation to maximise value and outcomes. \n
- Define business models, target operating models and business cases to support investment decisions. \n
- Partner with workstream leads to ensure joined-up delivery and that design decisions are agreed with key business stakeholders. \n
- Lead senior stakeholder and sponsor engagement through clear, outcome-focused written and verbal communication tailored to the audience. \n
- Maintain oversight of delivery performance, governance and controls for high-priority initiatives, ensuring transparent reporting and timely decision-making. \n

- Deep project management and business analysis skills with experience of managing large and complex projects. \n
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels; comfortable operating with senior management and governance forums. \n
- Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills; able to translate complex content into clear delivery updates and decision points. \n
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle and prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment. \n
- In-depth knowledge of risk and control taxonomy, including identification, ownership, management and reporting of inherent and residual risks and controls positions. \n
