Engineering Surveyor

Position: Engineering Surveyor Location: Bedfordshire Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 + car & package Sector: Bulk Earthworks | Muck Shift | Civils The Role An established earthworks contractor is seeking an experienced Engineering Surveyor to support major bulk earthworks and muck-shift operations on a project based in Bedfordshire. This role would suit a surveyor with strong hands-on site experience, capable of working independently in a fast-paced earthworks environment. Both permanent and freelance candidates will be considered, with accommodation available for those working away from home. Key Responsibilities * Establish and maintain site control * Set up and manage GPS base stations * Carry out topographical surveys using GPS and total station * Setting-out for bulk earthworks operations * Quantify stockpiles and carry out earthworks volume analysis * Independently check office design models for accuracy and constructability * Check, calibrate, and maintain surveying and machine control equipment * Liaise with the client to obtain and clarify technical information * Complete site QA documentation and records Requirements * Proven experience as an Engineering Surveyor on bulk earthworks / muck-shift projects * Strong GPS and total station capability * Experience with earthworks modelling, volumes, and stockpile analysis * Ability to work independently and manage surveying responsibilities on site * Good communication skills for client and site team liaison * Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer * Salary between £40,000 – £55,000, depending on experience * Company car and full package * Freelance option available with competitive day rate * Accommodation provided if required * Long-term work with a specialist earthworks contractor
