\nMy client is seeking an experienced Production Maintenance Team Leader. If you have a strong engineering background covering mechanical and electrical engineering with experience of leading maintenance teams within a fast-paced FMCG, pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments?
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of Production Maintenance Technicians, ensuring engineering support is delivered safely, efficiently and effectively while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
\nThis role is offered initially on a 12-month contract basis, working a night shift pattern of 7.00pm – 7.00am Monday - Thursday. A competitive shift premium is offered for this role.
\n\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\nLead, coach and develop a team of Production Maintenance Technicians and Electricians.
\nPlan and prioritise engineering activities to maximise equipment uptime and minimise production downtime.
\nDrive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and equipment lifecycle management.
\nManage team performance, attendance, training and development through regular reviews and coaching.
\nSupport production by providing responsive engineering support across a 24-hour manufacturing operation.
\nIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, reduce waste and deliver cost savings.
\nCollaborate with Production, Quality and other support functions to resolve engineering issues and achieve site KPIs.
\nEnsure all engineering activities comply with Health & Safety, GMP and regulatory requirements.
\nLead engineering improvement projects and act as a subject matter expert across the business.
\nQualifications:
\n\nRecognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational qualification.
\nPrevious experience leading engineering or maintenance teams within FMCG, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or a similar manufacturing environment.
\nStrong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
\nExperience managing preventative maintenance programmes and engineering resources.
\nProven people management skills, including performance management, coaching and team development.
\nExcellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
\nStrong understanding of Health & Safety, GMP and continuous improvement methodologies.
\nAbility to make informed decisions in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high engineering standards.
