\nWe are working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an Unqualified Science Teacher to join their team from September 2026. The school is ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis, although fixed-term and long-term supply arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.
\nThis role is ideal for a Science graduate, Cover Supervisor, Instructor, Tutor, or aspiring teacher who is looking to gain valuable classroom experience while developing the skills needed to progress into qualified teaching.
The Role\n- \n
- Deliver pre-planned Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 using departmental resources \n
- Support learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics \n
- Adapt activities to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners \n
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement \n
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback where appropriate \n
- Work closely with the Science department to support effective curriculum delivery \n
- Contribute to wider school life and engage in ongoing training and development \n

- Strong subject knowledge in Science, ideally supported by a Science-related degree or qualification \n
- Experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting \n
- Confident in leading a classroom and managing groups of students \n
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills \n
- A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed \n
- Ambitious and keen to progress towards teacher training or gaining QTS \n
