Role Overview
\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join our team on a one-year fixed-term contract. This position is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners alike.
\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, preparing pupils for Key Stage 2 SATs, and supporting their transition to secondary education.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nTeaching and Learning
\n- \n
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum \n
- Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-key-stage assessments (SATs) \n
- Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners \n
- Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies \n
- Maintain a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment \n
Pupil Support
\n- \n
- Promote high standards of behaviour and positive relationships \n
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development \n
- Identify and support pupils with additional needs (SEND, EAL, etc.) \n
- Work closely with support staff to ensure effective intervention \n
Assessment and Accountability
\n- \n
- Track pupil progress and implement targeted interventions \n
- Contribute to data analysis and pupil progress meetings \n
- Provide regular feedback to pupils and parents \n
Collaboration
\n- \n
- Work collaboratively with Year 6 team members and wider staff \n
- Contribute to planning, moderation, and curriculum development \n
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school events \n

Person Specification
\nEssential
\n- \n
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS \n
- Proven experience teaching in Year 6(this may include placements for ECTs) \n
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum \n
- Understanding of SATs expectations and preparation \n
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning \n
- Excellent organisational and communication skills \n
- Ability to inspire and motivate pupils \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 beyond Year 6 \n
- Experience with diverse learning needs (SEND, EAL) \n
- Experience contributing to whole-school initiatives \n
