English Teacher – Full-Time (Temporary)
\nLocation: Preston (PR3)Start Date: September 2026Contract: Full-time, until at least Christmas 2026
\nThe Role
\nWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Preston (PR3) area from September 2026. This is a full-time position running until at least December 2026, with the potential for extension for the right candidate.
\nYou will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stage 3 & 4, inspiring students and supporting them to achieve their full potential.
\n\nKey Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to KS3/4 students \n
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations using AQA English Language and Eduqas Literacy specifications \n
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress \n
- Create a positive learning environment that promotes excellent behaviour and engagement \n
- Contribute to the wider school community and departmental development \n
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
\n- \n
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent \n
- Proven experience teaching Key Stage 3&4 English \n
- Strong working knowledge of AQA English Language and Eduqas Literacy \n
- Excellent classroom management skills \n
- A passion for English and the ability to motivate learners of all abilities \n
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children \n
